In a moment of multiple crises and tremendous suffering... we are learning how to feel. Our own grief, and each other's. Holding space for that grief creates the possibility for a better world.
Thank you for this reflection. I hear you; I go around and around with grief and emotion and embodiment and hope, too.
I particularly appreciate the way you synthesize thinkers from many paths; there's a lot clamoring for our attention, and you tease out and weave together a few important threads in a way that's clear and accessible.
Your mind works like mine - reading, researching, synthesizing, looking for meaning. I appreciate the work that went into your post and the honesty.
A key concept I learned in recovery is Acceptance. It’s key in being able to move forward. No action can come from being in denial or living in fear Neither does it imply inaction. It begs the question, “what’s next?”
I agree we have to do the next right thing. I hope we do make it out of this mess. I’m not sure we will.
Really well put. I love Valarie Kaur's question and in particular the way you weave it together with what Menakem and Taylor are doing with somatics. Warm data is where it's at. Rev. angel's quote made me think of Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivett-Carnac's The Future We Choose, which if you haven't already you should definitely check out.
